David Prutton predicts West Brom clash vs Bristol City

West Brom were very poor against Swansea City on Wednesday, but David Prutton is tipping them to bounce back when Bristol City come visiting on Saturday.

The Baggies have lost two out of their last three games, and Valerien Ismael will be desperate to get a win with some of the fans starting to turn against him.

Bristol have lost five games and won four, and Prutton reckons their recent form should give West Brom a chance at The Hawthorns.

Predicting a 2-0 win for the hosts, the Sky Sports pundit wrote in his column: “West Brom dropped out of the top two in the Championship after defeat at Swansea in midweek.

“They took the lead early but could not hang on, and there will be concerns about their ability to break teams down.

“Bristol City will be pleased to be back on the road to some degree, as their home struggles have turned into a bit of a nightmare.

“This is still a daunting trip, however. I think the Baggies will claim the three points.”

Unpredictable

West Brom have struggled to deliver in recent games, with Ismael’s style of play not yielding needed results against opponents who are better and comfortable at keeping the ball.

Fans are not happy with what they see at times, and they never hesitate to make their feelings clear once things start going south.

The players need to hit the ground running from the very first sound of the whistle against Nigel Pearson’s men, and they need to put in a show for their supporters.

A comfortable victory will come in very handy, but they have to come up with a way to break Bristol down.

Having found themselves out of the automatic promotion places, West Brom cannot afford to drop points against the 16th-placed team in the division.

Instant promotion remains the goal, but they are not currently playing in a way that exudes confidence from the fans, and that has to change sooner rather than later.
