Valerien Ismael confirms West Brom team news v Coventry City
Valerien Ismael has confirmed his West Brom team news for the Championship against Coventry on Saturday.
Matt Phillips has picked up a hamstring problem, with Robert Snodgrass and Jayson Molumby also out of the trip.
Those three join Jake Livermore, Kean Bryan, Kenneth Zohore and Dara O’Shea on the touchline with a real problem mounting.
The news was shared by Joseph Masi on his personal Twitter account with an injury crisis well and truly happening right now.
“Valerien Ismael just had his pre-Coventry presser,” he wrote. “Matt Phillips is out with hamstring injury.
“Robert Snodgrass with a back problem. Obviously, Livermore and Molumby suspended but boss says he knows who he is going to play in central midfield.”
This is a real problem for the Baggies, just as things couldn’t have gotten much worst on the pitch right now.
Alex Mowatt is the only out and out central midfielder available at this moment in time, so there appears to be a real problem.
Could Quevin Castro be the one to step forward? Or will someone such as Adam Reach be shoehorned into the side?
Semi Ajayi is another option at Coventry, but it isn’t making for good reading at this very moment, especially given Ismael’s current predicament.
We are desperate for three points, and it would be brilliant to do just that at the home of a rival also fighting for the play-offs.
