Don Goodman blown away by West Brom man Karlan Grant
Don Goodman was blown away by West Brom striker Karlan Grant’s performance against Coventry City.
The 24-year-old opened the scoring as the Baggies won 2-0 against Mark Robbins’ side.
He picked up a lovely pass from Callum Robinson and passed the ball into the net for his ninth of the season.
This goal impressed Goodman on Sky Sports’ coverage; he said: “He stays calm, he stays composed.
“He has a picture in his mind [he] knows exactly the finish he wants to apply, he sticks with it.
Grant proving his worth.
After he scored, Grant was a different player for the Baggies in truth.
He started whipping crosses into the box as well as linking up more and more with his good friend Robinson.
The goal in the first half seemed to lift the Baggies, and they soon added a scrappy second.
In the second half, Coventry were better, but West Brom defended resolutely to take a big three points and cut the gap on the top two.
If they are to stand any chance of catching either Bournemouth or Fulham, they need more performances like this from Grant because he was very good.
Obviously, playing him out on the left limits him in some ways but not when he plays like that and really turns it on.
Let us all hope that he can go on another nice goalscoring run as the season progresses and Albion look to build up some serious momentum ahead of the festive period.
In other West Brom news, Goodman slammed one Baggies man during the first half of the Coventry game.
