Don Goodman slams Callum Robinson in first half of West Brom v Coventry

Don Goodman slammed Callum Robinson during the first half of the West Brom game against Coventry City.

The Baggies took the lead thanks to Karlan Grant’s ninth goal of the season and then added another just before half-time.

However, before that, Goodman criticised Robinson on Sky Sports for a poor cross, which he should have done better with.

He said: “Callum Robinson needs to play this early.

“Look at Kyle Bartley in the centre; he’s free, but because the ball doesn’t go, delays his cross [and] the opportunity is lost.”

Poor cross from Robinson.

This was a poor cross from the Republic of Ireland international because Bartley was free at the back post, and he just dinked it out of play instead.

However, he redeemed himself shortly after as he played a lovely ball through for Grant to run onto and slot home.

After that, the Baggies controlled the game until the half-time whistle went, and Robinson actually got better and better.

He and Grant have a great understanding, and they linked up once more to provide one real moment of quality in what has been a frantic game so far.

Let us all hope that the Baggies can build on this as you could see the confidence come flooding back to Albion’s players after final scoring after a long time.

The only thing is that Coventry can’t be this bad in the second half, and the Baggies need another goal to make the game somewhat safe.
