Double West Brom exit on the cards before more January business done - Alan Nixon
West Brom will be switching their attention to shipping players out of the club in January, according to Alan Nixon.
The reliable journalist was quizzed on incoming at The Hawthorns and insisted that a couple may need to leave before anything else happens.
January was kicked off with a bang with the permanent signing of Daryl Dike from Orlando City, but more are wanted.
Writing on his personal Twitter account this week (6 January), Nixon shared that outgoings are needed first.
“Need a couple out,” he wrote.
The first two names that spring to mind are Robert Snodgrass and Jordan Hugill in this current squad.
Nixon was the one to report that Hugill was being recalled by Norwich, and Snodgrass is leaving after falling out with Valerien Ismael.
Both would free up big wages to spend at The Hawthorns, and open up spaces for more signings in the final third or midfield to be made.
New signings are needed, that is very clear, with the depth of this squad simply not good enough but the need to get rid of players first before bringing any in doesn’t help that.
It’s a need must though at this moment, and Ismael will be happy for the likes of Snodgrass to leave the club given he isn’t offering much on the pitch.
Should two players leave in the next week or two, it should set up an interesting last week in the January window – bring it on.
