Callum Morton returns to West Brom with loan departure expected - Reliable journalist
Callum Morton has returned to West Brom after a successful loan spell at League One club Fleetwood.
The striker returns to the Hawthorns after scoring seven goals in 22 appearances for the Cod Army.
Morton was unable to play in yesterday’s FA Cup clash with Brighton due to being cup-tied and Joseph Masi now expects him to go back out on loan by the end of the transfer window.
Writing on his personal Twitter, the Express and Star journalist said yesterday: “Callum Morton has returned from his loan at Albion but it’s my understanding he will be going out on loan again – with Peterborough heavily linked.
Trust the process
West Brom will be delighted with the progress Morton has made whilst out on loan with Fleetwood. He has picked up loads of game time but more importantly has shone whilst doing so.
His seven goals show that he is a very capable player even at such an early stage of his career.
His form has now attracted the attention of Championship side Peterborough which would be the perfect next destination for the Englishman.
His hard work and dedication look to be paying off with Morton now in the Championship conversation after several successful loan spells at lower league clubs.
Despite him progressing so well in his career, the Baggies should and will move him on again. It is in both of their best interests with more playing time at a higher level only set to fast-track Morton’s desired path into the Albion first team.
Valerien Ismael has also spoken on the importance of more outgoings before the end of the January window which leaves the 22-year-old likely to be sent back out on loan – a challenge he should relish.
