Daryl Dike must be used by West Brom v Queens Park Rangers - Kevin Phillips
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has insisted that Daryl Dike has to be utilised by West Brom against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday (15 January).
The ex-Baggies talisman admitted that it was a “massive” game for the Albion as they look to pick their form back up.
Valerien Ismael shared in his press conference that Dike won’t start the game, but could be used off the bench.
“I would like to think he would be involved,” he exclusively told West Brom News. “It’s a massive game for West Brom.
“I was just looking at the league and how tight it is at the top. For me, they need every player at it in a big test.
“At this stage now, players you’ve brought in have had time to settle in, it’s time to use them, whether he starts or not.
“He has to be ready to go.”
Dike has had nearly two weeks to familiarise himself with the Baggies and has been training alongside his teammates in the process.
So, Ismael sharing that he won’t start and will be on the bench could make little to no sense to anyone.
Why not start your new multi-million signing in what is a “massive” game, he has to be ready to make an impact by now.
Phillips is as baffled as everyone reading on, but let’s cross our fingers that he can come off the bench and possibly score the winner.
