West Brom-linked Vedat Muriqi placed top of transfer list by Lazio

Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi is the next player who Lazio want to sell amid interest from West Brom and Leeds, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.

The Italian news outlet that covers Lazio reports that the Serie A club need to sell players in order to bring new players in this month.

It is understood that despite selling players already, Lazio need to complete more sales and the next one to go is Muriqi.

West Brom, Leeds, CSKA Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow are said to be in pursuit of the 27-year-old centre-forward, who was the first Kosovan player to feature in the Champions League last season [Telegrafi].

Avoid at all costs

Valerien Ismael’s issues lie deeper than simply signing more strikers.

Daryl Dike made his debut on Saturday against QPR and will hopefully get a start very soon so Ismael doesn’t need to focus on new strikers right now.

Albion are struggling for goals, scoring just 19 in the Championship since August.

Muriqi simply won’t fix that and it’ll be hard for a proven goalscorer in Dike to fix that issue too.

Our central midfield options are poor, offering next to no creativity going forward, our discipline issues are wreaking havoc on selection and injuries have also been problematic all season.

Ismael could do with strengthening the spine of the team, in our opinion.

He’s done that with a striker but there have to be midfielders out there who are better than Jake Livermore.

At the back, Dara O’Shea will hopefully be back soon enough after images showed him returning to training. But we cannot pin our hopes on a young centre-back who’s been injured since September.

Defensively, we’re ok so that’s not a priority. The issues lie in the middle and final thirds, both in terms of personnel and style of play.
