Sky Sports relay West Brom transfer news as Andy Carroll passes medical

Sky Sports have relayed the news that Andy Carroll has passed his medical at West Brom on Friday (28 January).

Valerien Ismael confirmed the news in his latest press conference, with cover being sorted after Daryl Dike’s injury blow.

For whatever reason, Ismael shared that the deal cannot yet be announced at The Hawthorns, with certain aspects still needing ironing out.

Underwhelming.

Carroll is closing in on his move being announced at The Hawthorns, but something is clearly holding both parties back.

This is not a good sign, especially given our struggles in recent years with transfers coming in and out of the club.

The signing of Dike was meant to be a big turning point, but it was typical to see him injured only in his second appearance for the club.

What could be holding this back?

Carroll is a free agent after leaving Reading and has passed his medical, so it can’t be his chronic injury problems from the past.

The England international has impressed in the Championship this season, and will be desperate to get another big move at the end of his career, so hopefully, this shouldn’t be something too hurtful.
