West Brom ‘abysmal’ form turns Ally Robertson’s attention to next season

The truly dire form West Brom air in right now is a major cause for concern as they now languish in the bottom half of the Championship table.

One point from five games is not the run of results that will get a team promoted come May and manager Steve Bruce knows that.

Baggies icon Ally Robertson has become disenchanted with the club he played more than 500 times for in this most recent dip in form.

“There is no other way to say it – our performances over the past 12 games have been abysmal,” Robertson said in his Express and Star column.

“We’ve won just one of those matches – against struggling Peterborough back in January and I’m already starting to turn my attentions to next season.

“Now it’s about forward planning and making sure Steve Bruce identifies all the problems and is given the tools to fix them.”

Not the only one

69-year-old Robertson isn’t the only Albion fan who has perhaps become less interested in visiting The Hawthorns amid this dreadful spell of results.

West Brom

The mass exodus of the ground after Cyrus Christie put Swansea 2-0 up on Monday evening says everything you need to know and Bruce will have noticed as well as informed the players.

They are just as aware as the supporters that this current form is nowhere near good enough for West Brom but they can’t turn it around alone.

They need the backing of each and every one of you Baggies fans at every opportunity because when that elusive win does come, it will taste all the sweeter.

Every fan knows what it is like to go through tough times and they have rarely been harder for the Albion but the good times will roll around again soon enough if you stick by them.

In other West Brom news, this sensational 16-year-old has quit The Hawthorns to join Premier League giants Chelsea.
