Dara O’Shea drools over West Brom striker Andy Carroll
Dara O’Shea has showered heaps of praise on West Brom striker Andy Carroll, saying he is an “unbelievable” player.
The former Magpies joined the Baggies on a temporary deal and he has really impressed under Steve Bruce.
O’Shea suggests that Carroll brings flexibility to the side, indirectly backing him to earn a new deal at the club.

“Andy is an unbelievable player. We can play football but we can also hit him, which gives us two styles to our play,” said O’Shea, as quoted by The Mirror (23 April page 9).
“He is such a big presence, he tends to take two defenders with him. I’m buzzing to have him here and to learn from him.”
New deal?
Carroll joined the Baggies on loan for the rest of the season, and he has done (relatively) well.
The 33-year-old striker brings vast experience to the side, and he is still being considered a dangerous forward.
The biggest problem with Carroll is his fitness, and that is something the Baggies must take into consideration if they are indeed looking to offer him a new deal.
For West Brom, he has scored three goals in 14 appearances, which is not a great record, considering his vast talent.

However, in recent weeks, he has shown signs of improvement. The tall striker scored against Bournemouth and Blackpool, with his performance against the Cherries being undoubtedly his best this season.
Based on what he has done so far, it would be risky to offer him a new deal. Steve Bruce will look to bolster his forward department in the summer, and the veteran manager must check out for better alternatives.
