West Brom predicted XI v Barnsley - Bruce to stick with back four

West Brom manager Steve Bruce is expected to axe Grady Diangana for the Baggies’ final match of the season at home to Barnsley.

Albion are coming off a clean sheet last week in their 1-0 win against Reading.

Bruce’s side will be looking to finish the season on a high when they face already relegated Barnsley.

After outlining his plans to play a back four next season to the Express and Star, Bruce is expected to line up in a 4-4-2 formation as he did at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

With Andy Carroll set to leave the club, it will be unlikely that he will return to the starting eleven.

Bruce has been prone to rotating his front men in recent weeks, so we could expect a similar situation at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

As for the team, we only predict one change to the side, with David Button in goal, behind a back four of Dara O’Shea, Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi and Connor Townsend.

Matt Phillips and Adam Reach could retain their spots out wide with Jake Livermore and Jason Molumby in the centre of midfield.

Our one predicted change comes up front with Bruce dropping record signing Diangana and replacing him with Callum Robinson, partnering top-scorer Karlan Grant in a 4-4-2 formation.

Bruce will want to finish the season with a clean sheet, especially after expressing the importance of having a solid back-four to spearhead a promotion push next season.
