View: West Brom forward Grady Diangana on fire v Barnsley
West Brom have started the game brightly against Barnsley at the Hawthorns on the final day of the Championship.
This has been a really poor campaign for the Baggies. It started off brightly but they just fizzled away in the middle of the season.
The club is now set for rebuilding in the summer. Barnsley are already relegated and it’s a dead-rubber tie.
One player who has really impressed in the opening half was Grady Diangana.
He produced some great moments of skill to get his man at the byline. It gave the impression that the old Diangana is back. Unfortunately, it has come on the last day.
Joseph Masi, a journalist for Express and Star, hailed him as “brilliant”.
Moments later, Diangana produced another dazzling moment of magic, as he got past two players before he fired over the bar.
His left-footed shot from outside the box was too high, after being picked by Jake Livermore.
He has been lively throughout the opening half, and has put up a solid defensive shift.
Steve Bruce has made it clear that he will make a wholesome change to the squad as many as six-ten players could be signed in the summer.
A lot of players could leave the club as well, but Diangana should be there for the Baggies next season.
The 24-year-old has made 40 appearances for the club this season, managing only two goals. Clearly, it has been a very disappointing campaign for him.
However, he is a player with immense talent. The former West Ham attacker has a contract at the club till 2025, and he could become an important player for Steve Bruce.
In other West Brom news, Albion are set for a “huge battle” to sign a 33 G/A wonder in a major summer deal according to a report.
