Signing Elliot Anderson will be perfect business for West Brom
West Brom have made contact to sign Elliot Anderson on loan from Newcastle in the summer transfer window, according to the Northern Echo.
The Baggies have been in the market to sign a creative midfielder after struggling massively in the previous campaign.
The report further stated that the Magpies want to keep the young midfielder in the pre-season but they will be open to letting the player go after that.
It is also believed that West Brom are likely to face competition from the likes of Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday who are also keen on signing the 19-year-old.
In the recently concluded League Two season with Bristol Rovers, Anderson scored eight goals and provided five assists across 21 appearances. He added five more goals in the U23s in 2021-22 [Transfermarkt]
If Bruce gets this signing over the line, it will definitely show that West Brom wants to change their perspective from being a defensive unit to a creative team.
Considering the fact that Alex Mowatt was the only reliable midfielder for the Baggies in the recently concluded season, the addition of the youngster will also be music to the ears of John Swift, who has joined the club this summer.
Anderson has a fantastic ability to find long-range passes for his attackers. The most important thing is that the teenager likes to take risks and is never afraid going forward even if he has a high percentage of possession lost per game.
Therefore, the Baggies should definitely make a move for the youngster to ensure that there is enough attacking impact next season.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have tabled an official offer to seal yet another major new signing this month
