West Brom target Hamza Choudhury made available for expensive loan move
Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury is expected to be made available for a loan move, amid interest from West Brom, as reported by Birmingham Mail [14 June].
After signing John Swift, Steve Bruce is now looking to add a defensive midfielder, and he has earmarked Choudhury as a potential option.
Middlesbrough are also keen to sign the “distinctive” midfielder, but it is likely to be an “expensive” loan move.
The report adds that an agreement if found is likely to happen towards the end of the window, where the Foxes will have a clear idea of where they stand with their recruitments.
Solid midfield partnership
If the Baggies can beat Boro in the race to sign Choudhury, it would be a cracking piece of business, albeit an expensive one.
He would be a really smart signing for Albion as they look to get back to the Premier League next season.
Bruce has already addressed the need for creativity by landing Swift, and he has a chance to forge a solid midfield partnership by signing the Leicester midfielder.
Choudhury has shown his quality in the Premier League, and he has been a regular player for them since 2018.
He may not have played much last season, but his quality is undeniable. He is good at making tackles, while has got a brilliant passing ability.
His overall quality on the ball is something that can make a difference, while his experience could be vital.
Leicester are unlikely to miss him, but he could be a hero at the Hawthorns. There is a high chance that a deal could be done, but the Baggies need to be patient here.
