Tyrese Campbell contract offer made as West Brom await decision
West Brom target Tyrese Campbell is deliberating over his future after receiving an offer from Sheffield United, according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist shared via his Patreon account [8 August] that Sheffield United are edging in front in the race to sign the free agent striker.
West Brom are also said to be interested in landing Campbell [Daily Mail, 18 July], who is the son of the late former Albion striker Kevin, and will keenly await any updates.
The Baggies’ Championship rivals Sheffield United are reportedly hopeful the offer tabled for Campbell is enough to see off the competition.
West Brom set to miss out on Tyrese Campbell
Brandon Thomas-Asante’s exit has left a void to be filled in attack for West Brom, even accounting for the signing of Devante Cole.
Cole, who left Barnsley at the end of last season, looks a smart purchase on a free transfer but surely cannot lead the line week in, week out.
Instead, Albion need to bring in a striker they know can score on a consistent basis in the second tier, which is of course easier said than done.
Campbell scored nine goals for Stoke in the Championship the season before last, so he is not exactly that out-and-out goalscorer needed.
However, he would be another attacking option to help chip in and take the weight off the shoulders of the regular starting centre-forward.

Given this update, however, it appears as though Sheffield United are close to landing the 24-year-old. The search therefore continues.
