West Brom PSR: Henry Winter makes claim as Corberan heads out
Henry Winter has claimed that Carlos Corberan had a vastly reduced wage bill at West Brom this season.

Corberan has taken Albion from relegation candidates to playoff contenders since he joined the club in 2022 on a limited budget after the disastrous ownership of Guochuan Lai.
Winter commented on the Spaniard’s departure on X [24 December], saying: “Sad to see Carlos Corberan leave West Brom if he does go to Valencia as reported.
“Did a good job at the Albion in difficult circumstances.
“Reduced wage bill by 30% for PSR reasons, reduced average age, got 47 wins and 29 draws in 107 games (too many draws this season though), players obviously respect him and Grant, Mowatt, Bartley and Furlong improved by him.”
Corberan will be missed at West Brom
The Baggies fanbase has been divided on Corberan’s future in recent months as their manager was linked with various Premier League vacancies.
Albion have drawn ten of their last 15 Championship matches, winning just three games in that period to sit seventh in the table.
However, they are level with Middlesbrough in sixth place, who occupy the final playoff spot with more than half of the season left to play.

Corberan will be a huge miss at The Hawthorns and the club must ensure that they get the right replacement and that his work is not in vain.
The opportunity to return to Valencia where he came through the youth team as a player is too good for the 41-year-old to turn down and that is understandable.
He will be remembered fondly at Albion in the years to come especially given the challenging circumstances that engulfed his stint in the dugout.
In other West Brom news, a former Premier League manager could be set to replace Corberan.
