Shilen Patel drops ‘tremendous’ new West Brom manager update as Corberan leaves
Shilen Patel has revealed that Andrew Nestor is leading the hunt for a new head coach at West Brom after Carlos Corberan’s exit.
The Baggies owner took to X to express his gratitude towards Corberan after his move to Valencia was confirmed on Tuesday, 24 December.
He also shared an update on Albion’s search for a new boss, pledging to give the “tremendous” opportunity to the right candidate.
“Looking forward, Andrew Nestor is leading the search for our new head coach”, Patel wrote.
“We look forward to bestowing this tremendous opportunity on the appropriate person.”
Mark Robins emerge as favourite to take charge of West Brom at The Hawthorns
With the head coach position at West Brom now officially vacant, rumours are rife about who could take the reins at The Hawthorns.
Several managers have been mooted to replace Corberan, while the fans are throwing their preferred candidates into the mix as well.
Mark Robins, though, has emerged as an early favourite on the bookmakers’ list [Oddschecker].
Steve Cooper, who is without a job after being sacked by Leicester last month, is also under consideration at the West Midlands club [DOOD].
One person who is not on the list, however, is Graham Potter.
The former Chelsea boss is highly regarded by many fans, but his wage demands are out of the Baggies’ reach.
Nevertheless, it appears the West Brom hierarchy are hard at work to find a replacement for Corberan as soon as possible.
With several managers available, they may have to take some time before making a final decision.
In the meantime, Chris Brunt, Damia Abella and Boaz Myhill will hold the fort.
In other West Brom news, this former Baggies gem has been tipped to make a shock return to The Hawthorns.
