Daryl Dike fitness update emerges at West Brom

Daryl Dike is back training on grass for West Brom after a prolonged period on the sidelines due to injury.

The striker has been hit by serious bad luck over the past two years and hasn’t featured for the Baggies since 10 February when he ruptured his Achilles tendon.

It’s been a long road back for the 24-year-old and Albion will be keen to give him the time he needs to get to full fitness rather than risking any further setbacks.

However, DOOD posted on X confirming that Dike is on his way back as he said: “Dike is back on the grass.”

Daryl Dike getting closer to West Brom return

It’s been a tough period for Dike as he has been recovering behind the scenes while watching Albion progress without him.

It is positive news that the striker is back in training and the hope now is that the rest of his recovery is positive and the player isn’t struck with any further setbacks.

Dike has 16 goals in 48 Championship appearances so if he can get fit, it should be promising for the Baggies who are looking to improve their form in the hope of a top-six finish this season.

With a new manager coming to The Hawthorns after Carlos Corberan’s departure from the Black Country club, this could be a perfect opportunity for the 24-year-old to have a welcome new start.

While he is some time off playing games, if he can stay fit and train well he could easily make a good impact on his new boss who could be keen to use him when ready.

In other West Brom news, ambitions at Albion have been questioned as another key figure looks to depart.
