West Brom loan player departs The Hawthorns as exit announced
Paddy McNair has left West Brom after his loan spell at The Hawthorns has come to an end, as announced by the club.
West Brom announced via their Official Club Website that the defender is returning to San Diego after joining the Black Country club on a six-month loan deal in the summer.
Bad luck with injuries means the 29-year-old only made three appearances for Albion in all competitions during his spell.
Paddy McNair unlucky at West Brom
Although Carlos Corberan only signed McNair as defensive cover in the summer, the way the loan spell went will have disappointed both parties who would have hoped for more.
The 29-year-old was unlucky after he picked up an injury during his second league appearance for the club, which kept him out on the sidelines recovering.
In recent weeks, the defender has got back to fitness and been in the squad but he was not used ahead of his departure to America and therefore leaves The Hawthorns not really having had the chance to show supporters what he can do.

While McNair didn’t feature too much, his exit means there is a spot in the squad that a new manager will want to fill, with Carlos Corberan having departed as head coach on Christmas Eve.
Whoever the new manager is will surely be looking to bring in more defensive cover, especially with Mason Holgate currently out of the team through injury.
That being said, there will be hope that the next addition can have a bit more to do than McNair did during his time at the Baggies.
In other West Brom news, a Sky Sports commentator named Corberan’s potential successor.
