West Brom next manager: New favourite installed as ex-Man United coach odds crash

West Brom have seen a new favourite emerge to take over as head coach at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies will be keen to get a new face in the dugout ready for the summer after Tony Mowbray was shown the door in April.

This saw the B71 club see out the campaign with James Morrison in temporary charge, but now new options are being reviewed.

Now, a fresh favourite for the role with the Albion has emerged with a former Manchester United coach potentially in line to come in.

West Brom see new favourite emerge for head coach

After the departure of Carlos Corberan, the need for a head coach with similar tactics and values in the Black Country is still huge.

Mowbray failed to fill the shoes of the Spaniard in his second spell in the Midlands and eventually faced the sack after just 17 games.

Now, other options are being considered by Shilen Patel and Co. with a number of names flying around The Hawthorns in recent weeks.

After Marti Cifuentes and Ryan Mason were linked with the vacant role, a new favourite has emerged to become head coach in B71.

OddsChecker have revealed (9 May) Minnesota United coach Eric Ramsay as the new favourite with his odds shortening to 2/1 overnight.

This sees the former Manchester United coach sit ahead of Mason, Cifuentes and Russell Martin the running to become Baggies manager.

Ramsay in line to become West Brom manager

It is somewhat positive to see Patel once again casting out his line and assessing a number of managerial options ahead of the summer.

Now it appears that a move for Ramsay is at the front of the queue after a 14-month spell with Minnesota United in MLS.

The Welshman has had a positive spell in charge of the American side after becoming a manager for the first time after leaving Manchester United.

The 33-year-old was a player development coach under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before going on to work under Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford until 2024.

It would certainly be interesting to see what the young head coach could achieve at The Hawthorns after emerging as the favourite for the role.
