Man United fans have a lot to say after Toby Collyer makes West Brom debut
West Brom recently signed Toby Collyer on loan from Manchester United, and he made his debut against Wrexham.
Collyer joined West Brom on a season-long loan with no option to buy, and he arrives as one of Man United’s brightest young talents.
West Brom recorded a superb 3-2 victory over Wrexham, and midfielder Isaac Price scored twice in an outstanding display.
The Man United loanee came on for his debut as a late substitute, a day before his parent club lost their Premier League opener to Arsenal, and their fans have had a lot to say about the West Brom midfielder since.

Man United fans claim Collyer is better than Manuel Ugarte
Man United’s decision to loan Collyer to Ryan Mason’s side was clearly motivated by a desire to give him first-team action.
However, with United not signing a new central midfielder, some of their fans now believe that Collyer is better than some of their current options.
- Collyer has made 13 senior appearances for Man United
- The 21-year-old joined United from Brighton as a teenager in 2022.
Manuel Ugarte came on as a substitute in their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal and delivered a disastrous performance, and United fans have now taken to X to claim that Collyer would be a better option in midfield than the Uruguayan.
Collyer will be a useful asset for West Brom
Collyer is clearly highly rated at Man United, enough that their fans would have liked to see him feature regularly in the first team ahead of Ugarte this season.
This is an encouraging sign for West Brom, who appear to have signed a gem, and his brief cameo against Wrexham was a tidy one as he completed 100 per cent of his passes.
Mason could be the ideal coach for Collyer in this stage of his development, away from the pressures currently facing the Man United midfield, and he may expect to come into the starting lineup soon.
West Brom are building a young team with Collyer set to play alongside Price and Tom Fellows, and the trio can help the Baggies continue their fine start to the campaign.
