George Campbell proves he should be West Brom’s new captain after Bristol City win
George Campbell should be in the running to be West Bromwich Albion‘s next captain after the 1-0 win over Bristol City.
The American centre-back signed for the Baggies in the summer, and he has proved to be a brilliant addition.
He also has a knack for coming up with crucial goals for Albion, with four goals in his 32 Championship appearances so far this season.
He was pivotal as West Brom secured a vital win over the Robins to help their fight against relegation from the Championship, and should be the one to take over the armband from Jed Wallace.

How did Campbell perform in West Brom win vs Bristol City?
Campbell was in sensational form for West Brom at Ashton Gate, scoring the winning goal as he headed home from a first-half corner.
However, his goalscoring exploits were not the most impressive thing about his performance, as he was superb when it came to defending.
The 24-year-old made 18 defensive contributions in the clash on 21 March, winning one of the two tackles that he attempted, making one interception, six recoveries and 15 clearances, per Sofascore.

In terms of duels, he won two of the three that he attempted on the ground and all three that he contested in the air.
He was also calm in possession, taking 70 touches but only losing the ball six times, and completing 88 per cent of his 50 pass attempts.
He leads by example on the pitch, which is exactly what the Black Country club needs.
Why West Brom may need a new captain
West Brom may need a new skipper for the new season, as the current incumbent, Wallace, is out of contract in the summer.
There have been no indications that a new deal is on the cards for the 31-year-old, and he looks set to leave the West Midlands club when his contract expires.
If a new agreement is not reached and he departs, Campbell seems like the perfect replacement in the leadership role, despite only signing at the start of this season.
Whether it happens, remains to be seen, but that is the most sensible solution for Albion, provided that Wallace does depart at the end of the campaign.
