West Brom fans hit out as Blackburn make ‘disgusting’ ticket upgrade announcement
West Bromwich Albion supporters have reacted strongly to a new ticket announcement for their upcoming clash with Blackburn Rovers.
The Lancashire club have announced that Baggies supporters who have bought an away ticket for the 6 March clash can upgrade to the Legends Lounge for an extra £20.
The package includes a meal of slow-cooked minted lamb shoulder on floured teacake with cucumber yoghurt, crispy onions and fries and a token for a pint or a soft drink.
West Brom are in the relegation fight with the Ewood Park side, and many Albion fans have shown solidarity with their fanbase ahead of the Easter Monday contest.

What have West Brom supporters said?
West Brom supporters have been through ownership struggles themselves, with the disastrous Guochuan Lai reign.
The Chinese businessman left the Black Country club in a dismal financial mess, which they are still feeling the effects of under Shilen Patel and Co.

As a result, they are very sympathetic to the Rovers’ plight under the Venky’s group, who are another set of controversial owners.
One supporter hit out at the move, saying: “Too much respect for your fans that will be looking on, absolutely furious with this.”
Another said: “Total disrespect to their own fans here.”
One fan said: “Can you imagine if our owners did this now or previously…”
Why are Blackburn’s owners so controversial?
Venky’s, a major Indian poultry conglomerate, have owned Blackburn since 2010, but it has not been plain sailing for the club.
The ownership have overseen a decline that saw them go from a Premier League outfit to as far down as League One in 2017 under former Albion boss Tony Mowbray, before they bounced back to the second tier under his leadership.

They have remained there and not gotten near a return to the top-flight since getting back into the Championship.
Supporters have protested against them on numerous occasions, including releasing a chicken onto the pitch in a top-flight game against Wigan Athletic in May 2012.
Fans have called for the ownership to sell the club, but Chief Operating Officer Suhail Pasha told BBC Radio Lancashire in April 2025 that they did not want to do that.
The supporters in the West Midlands know all about bad owners, and that is probably why they have shown solidarity with Rovers fans on the matter.
