Callum Styles: Mr Consistent boasts West Brom stats that prove seasonal excellence ahead of run-in

Callum Styles is in the argument for being West Brom‘s most consistent player this campaign, and his terrific statistics over the course of the season prove why.

The left-back has been a shining light in a campaign that no Baggies fan expected to go so badly.

Styles has been a constant feature in defence and sometimes midfield under three separate managers, which is a testament to his individual quality.

It’s taken some time for him to gain the faith of The Hawthorns, but among the rough, he has been one of the best to come out the other side of a terrible season.

Styles is now helping West Brom’s push for survival, and has contributed to Albion’s recent lift out of the relegation zone, as his stats from this season prove that his excellence should come as no surprise.

These stats prove Callum Styles in running for West Brom POTS

West Brom signed Styles from Barnsley back in the summer of 2024, and he was somewhat of a regularly criticised man last season.

He was part of the reason why the Baggies fell short of the Play-offs, but in turn, he has made up for his performances last season with excellent displays this term.

The versatile defender offered very little all season last campaign, until he grabbed three goal contributions in a final day 5-3 win over Luton Town.

Though he hasn’t scored this season, the Hungarian has looked much more assured when bombing forward down the left flank, and has two more assists to his name.

As highlighted by Sofascore in the graphic below, the former Barnsley man has improved in attacking output this season, with three assists and six big chances created.

He’s featured in 40 games this campaign and has a 3.90 per cent improved duel win percentage from last campaign, and also makes an impressive 2.05 tackles per 90 minutes.

What has Callum Styles said about West Brom’s recent form?

West Brom head into the international break in 20th place, four points off the relegation zone with seven games to go.

Shilen Patel will be counting his lucky stars for Albion to stay in the league, but he may also have Styles to thank for his consistent performances this season.

The 25-year-old has claimed that the two wins against Hull City and Bristol City were “huge”, but insists the job is far from over.

It’s still all to play for, and with a game against relegation rivals Blackburn Rovers to come, anything could happen.

But with Styles in top form, it looks like the Baggies have a good chance of staying up after all.
