Ezri Konsa sends message to Karlan Grant as West Brom ace raring to go
Ezri Konsa has wished Karlan Grant well as the West Bromwich Albion star steps up his injury recovery.
Grant has endured a difficult season for West Brom, with two troublesome hamstring problems greatly restricting his game time.
The 28-year-old has played 23 times in the Championship this season, scoring three goals, with his last appearance coming in a 1-1 draw with Derby County on 23 January.
As West Brom aim to stave off relegation to the Championship, a player of Grant’s quality would likely help.
And as Grant seemingly closes in on a first-team return, he has taken to social media to issue a teasing update on his condition.

Karlan Grant steps up West Brom recovery
Versatile forward Grant has been sidelined for more than two months now as West Brom try to maintain their Championship status.
Earlier this month, caretaker manager James Morrison suggested that Grant could be back for their games with Preston North End and Watford in the second half of April.
| West Brom’s remaining games | Date |
| West Brom vs Wrexham | 3 April |
| Blackburn vs West Brom | 6 April |
| West Brom vs Millwall | 10 April |
| Preston vs West Brom | 18 April |
| West Brom vs Watford | 21 April |
| West Brom vs Ipswich | 25 April |
| Sheffield Wednesday vs West Brom | 2 May |
That means he is likely to play no more than four more games this season, with the resurgent Baggies hoping their strong recent form can carry them to safety.
Incidentally on Monday night, Grant posted photos of him back in training, alongside teammate Tammer Bany, in addition to an eyes emoji, an egg timer emoji and a football emoji.
And among the well-wishers, that included West Brom’s Daryl Dike and ex-Baggies favourite Matt Phillips, Aston Villa’s Konsa posted a hands up emoji and a love heart emoji.
One last hurrah for Grant at West Brom?
Grant swapped Huddersfield Town for then Premier League side West Brom in October 2020 for a reported fee of £15million.
After scoring 19 goals in the Championship the season prior, hope was high the forward could translate that form into the Premier League.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, with Grant scoring once in 21 games as West Brom were relegated to the Championship.

And other than scoring 18 times in the 2021-22 campaign, Grant has struggled for goals at The Hawthorns since then.
Only once has he hit double figures for goals, although the 28-year-old has frequently been used as a winger and on the left of midfield, too.
Grant’s contract expires in the summer, and it remains to be seen if West Brom will offer him an extension. Much of that may be down to whether or not they stay up.
But if he can come back and fire them to safety, that will be a great way to go out on.
