West Brom fans risk being completely messed around amid Sheffield Wednesday ticket delay

West Bromwich Albion fans will have to wait even longer before they can buy tickets for their final-day clash against Sheffield Wednesday.

The game could prove to be one of the biggest in West Brom’s recent history, with James Morrison‘s side currently in a relegation dogfight.

Back-to-back wins in the Championship mean the Baggies are currently four points clear of the drop zone, but they still have the likes of Wrexham, Millwall and Ipswich to play at the Hawthorns.

It has been a hugely disappointing season for the Black Country outfit, but the fans have done everything they can to support the team in difficult circumstances.

And for West Brom’s visit to Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season, tickets have now been delayed for away supporters.

West Brom away tickets vs Sheffield Wednesday delayed

The Owls are already relegated, and they’re looking to rebuild their squad after several years of turmoil off the pitch.

Their support has been phenomenal this season, but when they host the Baggies, they’ll be met with an equally loud fanbase once the tickets are available.

West Brom announced on their website on Thursday that the sale of away tickets for the final game of the season has been delayed.

Seats at Hillsborough were due to go on sale on Tuesday, April 7, but have now been pushed back, with details and a new set of dates set to be confirmed at the earliest available opportunity.

The game takes place on 2 May, which is in less than a month, which adds complications to the travelling plans of any West Brom fans.

It’s likely that it will take at least another week before away tickets go on sale, which is hugely frustrating for supporters and means any plans will have to wait a while longer yet.

Can West Brom secure Championship survival before the final day?

While West Brom could find themselves needing a result against Sheffield Wednesday to stay up, it does look promising that they could secure safety before then.

Although their matches aren’t easy by any means, the likes of Preston and Watford don’t have too much to play for.

West Brom’s away trip to Blackburn on Easter Monday is also an opportunity for Morrison’s side to get one over a relegation rival.

West Brom Championship next five fixtures

The Baggies are currently the most in-form side at the wrong end of the table, but they’ll be praying that they can overcome their tough fixtures before their trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

While the match will be one that the Baggies expect to win, they won’t want to be under any pressure on 2 May.

Fortunately, it feels as though they might have enough to avoid relegation before that game.
