West Brom vs Wrexham: Three things you may have missed – including James Morrison message
West Bromwich Albion drew 2-2 with Wrexham on Saturday, but here’s three things you may not have picked up from the game, including James Morrison‘s pre-match message.
West Brom couldn’t make it three-straight wins in the Championship on Good Friday, as they let a two-goal lead slip to end up drawing 2-2 with Wrexham.
Morrison’s side took the lead on 27 minutes after an Isaac Price free-kick beat Arthur Okonkwo on his near post, before a Josh Maja penalty made it two on 38 minutes.
Wrexham got one back minutes after the restart, with Josh Windass firing home from just outside the box with a powerful right-footed effort that Josh Griffiths could do little about in the Baggies goal.
Albion couldn’t hold on for the win though and drew the game 2-2, but West Brom News has combed through the match footage and social media to find three things that you may have missed, whether you were at The Hawthorns or watching from home.

James Morrison makes ‘mini season’ claim in programme notes
Morrison has improved West Brom drastically since taking over as interim head coach following the sacking of Eric Ramsay.
The 39-year-old Albion legend has galvanised the group over the last few weeks, and has now instilled a real belief that the team can avoid relegation to League One this season.

Baggies fans have been loving life under ‘Mozza’, with many calling for him to be handed the job on a permanent basis.
Given his lengthy playing career at The Hawthorns, he absolutely knows what this football club means to the fans, and that’s made clear every time he speaks.
However, if you weren’t at the game on Friday, then you will have missed the message he wrote as part of his section in the programme.
Thankfully, courtesy of Express & Star reporter Lewis Cox via X, he took a picture of a particularly inspiring section that Morrison wrote.
“We enjoyed the win at Bristol City, which was a great way to end that little run,” Morrison wrote.
“But, after a short rest for those who didn’t go away on international duty, the hard work has continued.
“We’ve kept our feet on the ground and we’re ready to go again into what is a final ‘mini season’ over the next month.”
George Dobson gets slight touch on West Brom & Wrexham goals
This one is more for fans who were at the game, and didn’t have the luxury of being able to watch replays of the goals going in.
West Brom’s first of the afternoon saw Price drill a low free-kick past Okonkwo on his near post, but on second viewing, you can see that Wrexham midfielder George Dobson does indeed get a slight touch on it.
As such, that goal will go down as an own goal for Dobson, but the 28-year-old made up for that in the second half.
Indeed, he did get the slightest of flicks on the ball after Lewis O’Brien’s initial shot, and this helped the ball on its way past Griffiths to level the scores at 2-2.
What Josh Maja was holding for his celebration has been revealed
With a little over five minutes of the first half to play, Maja stepped up and slammed home from the penalty spot to give West Brom a two-goal advantage heading into the interval.
The Baggies number nine wheeled away in celebration towards the Albion fans, and then reached over the advertising boards to take something from someone sat behind them as part of his celebration.
But, whether you were watching in the stands and couldn’t make it out, or you were watching at home and were cursing when the Sky Sports cameras cut away just before showing what he was doing, fear not.
As detailed by Cox once again, it’s been confirmed that the item Maja picked up was in fact a cross, and Cox believes that it was the West Brom club photographer known as Fradge who handed it to him.
This was evidently something Maja had planned then, and so we can probably expect to see some shots of him holding the cross on either his or the Club’s social media later on.
