West Brom player ratings vs Millwall – Daryl Dike a handful, Isaac Price wasteful
West Bromwich Albion drew 0-0 with Millwall on Friday night, with Daryl Dike being a handful all night up top for the Baggies.
Another considerable step was taken towards Championship survival for West Brom at The Hawthorns on Friday night, as Albion held promotion-chasing Millwall in check.
James Morrison made two changes to his West Brom team that drew 0-0 with Blackburn Rovers on Easter Monday, with Alex Mowatt and Dike replacing Charlie Taylor and Josh Maja respectively.
The momentum often changed hands throughout the first half of the game, with West Brom and Millwall both enjoying periods where they were in the ascendancy.
However, neither side would be able to find a breakthrough on the night, but it’s undoubtedly West Brom who will be the happier of the two teams, as their unbeaten run stretches to seven games.

Daryl Dike put in encouraging performance vs Millwall
Dike enjoyed a positive cameo against Blackburn on Easter Monday, after coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes or so of that goalless draw.
The American hasn’t been able to nail down a regular starting role for West Brom this season, with just four of his 20 Championship appearances coming as part of the starting lineup.
| Dike’s stats vs Millwall | Result |
| Expected goals (xG) | 0.31 |
| Shots (on target) | 3 (0) |
| Big chances missed | 1 |
| Carries | 7 |
| Aerial duels (won) | 11 (3) |
However, it’s clear that the 25-year-old is desperate to make up for lost time as an Albion player, with his energy and hunger to impact games on full display for all to see.
That was again the case against Millwall on Monday, as despite the fact he missed a number of chances and couldn’t get on the scoresheet, the big striker put in a real shift and deserved something to show from it.
As per Sofascore, Dike took 33 touches of the ball, made seven carries and had three shots on goal, as well as missing one big chance, as he saw a couple of headers unable to trouble Anthony Patterson.
He also was fouled twice, attempted 11 aerial duels and five ground duels, made two recoveries and one clearance before he was eventually replaced on 84 minutes for young striker Eseosa Sule.
So, whilst it was somewhat of another frustrating performance from him, his endeavour and industry to try and make the right things happen deserves to see him receive far more praise than criticism.
Isaac Price wasteful for West Brom vs Millwall
Isaac Price has been enjoying a resurgence in form for West Brom over the last few weeks, and has done a lot to win favour back with Albion supporters.
Ahead of the game with Millwall, the 22-year-old Northern Ireland international had two goals in his last three league games for the Baggies, netting against Wrexham and Hull City respectively.
His performances have really begun to ramp up from the Sheffield United game on 7 March onwards, and has been a big part in the turnaround under Morrison.
That being said, however, Price wasn’t at his best against Millwall, spurning a number of crossing opportunities and set-piece situations with frustratingly poor deliveries.

As per Sofascore, Price made 13 cross attempts against the Lions but only two were accurate, whilst he also conceded possession 22 times.
Price created one big chance and only registered one shot on goal, which was off target, as well as completing just one of his three dribble attempts successfully from 60 total touches of the ball.
Overall, it was a hugely frustrating night for Price, who looked every bit of a player who was perhaps trying too hard to make something happen against Millwall.
He can and should be forgiven for this display though, with credit piled back into the bank for his aforementioned recent showings, and Albion are going to continue needing him in these final weeks of the campaign.
