West Brom: Isaac Price deserved his individual glory vs Millwall, but it was taken from him
West Bromwich Albion‘s goalless draw with Millwall was another point on the board, but Isaac Price may feel like he was robbed of a Man of the Match display by his teammates.
James Morrison‘s side added another point to their growing Championship tally on Friday, as they held a promotion-chasing Millwall at The Hawthorns.
Price played the full game, and his performance drew mixed reactions from Baggies fans, but the truth is, he was close to winning the game for Albion.
The attacking midfielder created plenty of chances for his teammates to put away, and though other parts of his game were less desired, he put 100 per cent effort in.
Price has had a turbulent season for West Brom, but the stats show his display against Millwall was proof that he is slowly getting back to his usual self.

Was Isaac Price actually good vs Millwall?
Price was criticised for his performance against Millwall, as, admittedly, there were areas that he could have done better in.
However, had his West Brom colleagues been in a goal-scoring mood, the Northern Irish star could have had a hat-trick of assists to his name.
| Area of game | Stats |
| Minutes played | 90 |
| Chances created | 6 |
| Pass accuracy | 86% |
| Touches | 64 |
| FotMob rating | 7.4 |
As highlighted by the 22-year-old’s 7.4 FotMob rating, he was close to reaching Man of the Match status, had he padded an assist to his name.
West Brom had 16 shots in the game, and six chances were created by Price, meaning almost a third of Albion’s attacks came through him.
However, the flip side of it was the other underlying numbers that proved he had other parts of his game that were poor.

The youngster lost the ball 22 times and managed to complete just two of his 13 cross attempts, but if he wasn’t trying to make something happen, people would also be calling him out.
Like so often with Price, he tries many things and is sometimes so close to the spectacle. Though if it doesn’t come off, he is criticised.
This is what is easy to forget about Price
This season has been one that no Baggies fans probably saw coming. Four spells with different people in charge of the club, and being firmly planted within a relegation battle with four games to go.
Morrison is doing a good job of steadying the ship, but with that has come some sacrifices that certain players have had to make.
- Price has 10 goal contributions this season
- That’s eight goals and two assists
- He’s now played 60 times for the Baggies
Price has been playing out on the left, which isn’t his natural position. Attacking midfield is where he thrives, and being on the left flank exposes some of his weaknesses, like pace.
Hopefully next campaign begins in the Championship, and a new head coach can revive Price’s true potential through the centre of attack.
