West Brom: Thomas-Asante sends message to Eseosa Sule after Championship bow
West Bromwich Albion youngster Eseosa Sule was handed his Championship debut against Millwall, with a number of current and former teammates sending messages of congratulations.
The Baggies secured a solid point against Millwall, who are currently fighting for automatic promotion at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, James Morrison‘s side are on the opposite end fighting to avoid the drop down to League One.
The London side were no doubt the favourites to win, but Morrison’s job since taking over has seen a drastic U-turn in results.
West Brom are five games unbeaten, with the B71’s head coach now putting his trust into the youth amid a change of fortunes.

What did Thomas-Asante say to Eseosa Sule after Championship debut?
Sule made just his second appearance for the Midlands club against Millwall, having previously featured in the Carabao Cup last season.
The 20-year-old played 18 minutes as the Baggies were knocked out by Fleetwood Town.
| Eseosa Sule’s West Brom timeline | Date |
| Joined West Brom from Celtic | 26 January 2023 |
| Signs first professional contract | 13 May 2023 |
| Makes West Brom first-team debut vs Fleetwood Town | 13 August 2024 |
| Signs two-year deal with West Brom | 3 July 2025 |
| Sent on loan to Motherwell | 7 July 2025 |
| Returns from loan early due to injury | 1 January 2026 |
| Makes Championship debut | 10 April 2026 |
However, this time around, the result was a lot more positive after coming off the bench. Replacing Daryl Dike in the 85th minute, Sule was handed a chance to try to change the game.
Unfortunately, he was unable to do so, but it was a moment he will certainly relish.
Taking to Instagram, Sule showcased his appreciation for being handed his Championship debut.
Plenty of his current and former teammates were buzzing for him, with Thomas-Asante – now at Coventry City – replying: “Love That Sos.”
Dike commented with “Love that”, along with a heart and praying emoji. Meanwhile, Callum Styles dropped a love heart and a raised hand emoji with Karlan Grant simply leaving an applause emoji.
Overall, there is plenty of positivity beginning to seep back into the Hawthorns club, and the debut handed to Sule will only further that.
With Sule having just one year on his West Brom contract, the Baggies may now look to extend it further.
How did Sule get on in his brief Championship debut?
In truth, there is nothing to really take away from Sule’s performance with a few minutes to make an impact.
Sule only registered four touches and attempted one pass. However, the fact Morrison turned to the young forward with the Baggies needing a goal is a good omen for things to come.

Against one of the Championship’s strongest teams, turning to an inexperienced forward highlights how the manager rates the striker.
West Brom fans could now likely see much more to come from Sule before the season ends. Hopefully that arrives with positive news on the relegation front.
