West Brom: Jake Livermore among players to react as Daryl Dike sends thank you message to fans
West Bromwich Albion’s Championship campaign came to an end on Saturday with a 2-1 loss away at Sheffield Wednesday, with Daryl Dike playing the second half.
The loss at Hillsborough saw a fantastic 10-match unbeaten run come to an end under James Morrison, who guided the Baggies to safety.
The former midfielder was handed the job on an interim basis back in February, handed the task of securing Championship status after the dismal spells of Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay.
And that he did, galvanising the squad and the fanbase in the process.
As a result, striker Dike gave his thanks for the support this season, with former West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore reacting, alongside others associated with the Black Country club.

Daryl Dike feels the love after West Brom survival secured
Joining the club from Orlando City in 2022, American forward Dike has had a torrid time with injuries.
Once seen as the man to fire West Brom back to the Premier League, the towering forward has been unable to build any consistency throughout his time in the Midlands, prompting speculation about his future.
| Season | Injury | From | Until | Days | Games missed |
| 25-26 | Thigh problems | 01/08/25 | 12/10/25 | 73 | 10 |
| 23-24 | Achilles tendon surgery | 11/02/24 | 13/02/25 | 369 | 52 |
| 22-23 | Achilles tendon surgery | 16/04/23 | 05/01/24 | 265 | 32 |
| 22-23 | Thigh problems | 01/08/22 | 07/11/22 | 99 | 22 |
| 21/22 | Hamstring injury | 22/01/22 | 15/03/22 | 53 | 12 |
Taking to Instagram, the striker said: “Another season in the books. A very difficult season, but still very happy to be a part of it. Thank you so much Albion fans for helping push and support us throughout the year.
“Us players could not have achieved anything without the support from you or the people around the club. So much work was put in, so many battles were fought, and so many lessons were learned. On to the next.”
Reacting to the post, former Albion midfielder Livermore replied with a blue heart, while fans took to the comments pushing him to sign a new deal at The Hawthorns.
Compatriot and Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang would also join in with the support, while Eseosa Sule would reply with a fire emoji.
A well-liked figure at West Brom, Dike’s future is something that will be heavily discussed ahead of the summer months.
Big Daryl Dike decision coming for West Brom
With his current deal set to expire at the end of June, Dike’s time at The Hawthorns is coming to an end as things stand.
Though, after finally ending his goal drought under Morrison, and putting in a string of lively performances, the Baggies are left with a big decision to make.

However, West Brom do not have the time to be sentimental as they rebuild, and Dike’s availability is a huge concern – despite this being far from his own fault.
In a Baggies shirt, the American has racked up 2,466 minutes since his 2022 move. For context, fellow striker Aune Heggebo has notched up 3,290 this season alone.
If the injury worries were to be a guaranteed thing of the past, an extension would be a no-brainer.
Instead, the club are left with a huge decision to make as they plan out the squad for next season.
