Krystian Bielik’s move to West Bromwich Albion has been nothing short of a disaster so far, and two years remain on his deal at The Hawthorns.

Albion signed the versatile defender from Birmingham City last summer, and despite being warned, fitness issues have been a problem so far.

Bielik started in James Morrison‘s first game in charge as interim boss, grabbing an assist in the 2-1 loss to Oxford, before being forced off with injury the following game.

The 28-year-old is currently out with a muscle injury, and his return date is unknown, with Morrison now in charge for the foreseeable future.

Bielik’s future at West Brom will likely be considered this summer, as Morrison seems set on his defence already.

Could West Brom sanction early Krystian Bielik exit?

West Brom signed Bielik for £1million on a three-year deal last summer, in what seems to be a poor piece of business so far.

The capable midfielder has only ever managed more than 30 appearances in a league season in four of his 12 campaigns in his career.

From the data on offer from his first season with the Baggies, nobody has been overly impressed with the Polishman.

Though he only came to The Hawthorns for a relatively low fee, the player is said to be on high wages.

Morrison wants to conduct somewhat of an overhaul this summer, and it would be no surprise to see Bielik as one player who is shown the door.

The problem is that Shilen Patel would then need to cut his losses on another failed signing, which isn’t good news for West Brom’s finances.

This is why Bielik may seek his own West Brom exit

Bielik could be pushed far down the pecking order this summer depending on what business is done.

But as things stand already, he would not make Morrison’s preferred starting eleven, with George Campbell and Nat Phillips both regulars.

Bielik is at a stage of his career where he needs to be playing, as he should now be at the peak of his powers in footballing terms.

It’s nobody’s fault that he picked up the injury, but given that he should be fit for the start of the season, unless things are worse than they seem, then he will be in contention to play games.

Perhaps a loan exit would be best for Bielik to get guaranteed game time, as his wages currently put unnecessary weight on the Baggies.
