West Brom: Hindolo Mustapha contract examined ahead of Crystal Palace return
West Bromwich Albion bizarrely signed Hindolo Mustapha in January.
The 19-year-old came in from Crystal Palace over the winter as part of an attempt to guide the Baggies away from relegation.
He came in alongside fellow young loanee Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba in two strange signings for a side in need of points in the Championship.
The confusion surrounding those deals only grew when the Palace talent, in particular, hardly featured for the first team at The Hawthorns.
Mustapha struggled for game time at West Brom, and now we assess what we know about his contract at Selhurst Park.

What is Hindolo Mustapha’s contract situation at Crystal Palace?
The teenager is seen as a bright prospect with the Eagles having made a positive impression at youth level over the years.
That was recently followed by a season where he joined Nurnberg on loan after contributing to 20 goals for Palace’s under-21s side.
| Club | Appearances | Goals |
| West Brom | 2 | 0 |
| Nurnberg II | 2 | 0 |
He made just two appearances for the German side’s second team before repeating the exact same feat after his switch to the Black Country.
That has come as a surprise to some, especially with his lack of minutes, even after James Morrison’s side secured their place in the Championship.
The forward will now return to Selhurst Park, where his contract is in place until the summer of 2028, and his wages are currently undisclosed.
A question still surrounds Mustapha at West Brom and whether he could return to B71 ahead of next season in the second tier.
Could Mustapha return to West Brom next season?
It was far from an ideal loan spell for the Palace youngster, but he should have gained some positive experience as part of the squad.
Having watched on as Morrison’s side edged clear of the relegation battle, the atmosphere around The Hawthorns was certainly something to behold.

It would be interesting to know if he would like to come back and whether he could do so and be afforded more game time.
He is a young forward making his way as a senior footballer and could prove to be something special in B71.
Bringing Mustapha back could prove to be a worthwhile exercise for all parties, but it all depends on what other business is conducted by the Baggies.
