Wolves and West Brom square up for fiery Black Country fight over Danny Imray transfer
Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion may be about to enter a feisty Black Country fight to sign Crystal Palace star Danny Imray.
Albion enjoyed the right-back at The Hawthorns for the second half of the season, as the Crystal Palace loanee was a big reason for the club avoiding relegation.
James Morrison‘s side secured their status in the Championship, which has them lined up for some interesting fixtures next season.
One of which will be their Black Country rivals in Wolves, as Rob Edwards’ side have had their relegation from the Premier League confirmed for a while now.
It will be one of the most highly anticipated fixtures of the season, but West Brom and Wolves look set for a war to sign Imray, who looks likely to leave Selhurst Park permanently this summer.

Wolves and West Brom and two others interested in Danny Imray
Wolves have been credited with interest in Imray as well as newly-relegated side Burnley, and one other club from Germany.
West Brom remain in the hunt for the Englishman, but the “reality” is that Wolves and Burnley may both have stronger pitches to the defender due to promotion expectations.

However, Baggies fans have somewhat fallen in love with the idea of signing Imray, and the 22-year-old may feel like a return to The Hawthorns is only right.
Football is cruel, though, and if Imray were to join Wolves, Albion fans may change their tune on him fairly quickly.

Imray’s current deal with the Eagles is said to be expiring in the summer, though it’s not known if his parent club hold an option to extend his contract by another year.
Imray must be a priority early doors for West Brom
West Brom must contact Imray’s agent as soon as possible and make him aware that they want to sign him on a permanent deal.
Shilen Patel will have obvious financial obstacles to overcome this summer, but that only makes the need to sign Imray even stronger, especially if he can re-join the club for free.
Doing this could show the player how much West Brom really want him, and that could be a deciding factor considering Wolves and Burnley will have plenty of money to shop for other right-backs.
However, if either of those clubs puts their foot on the gas for his signature, the Baggies may be fighting an uphill battle that they most likely won’t win.
