Ollie Bostock decision weeks away as West Brom exit beckons

Ollie Bostock seems increasingly likely to be playing his football away from West Bromwich Albion next season.

The Baggies have a lot of work to do in the summer if they are to put this season’s disappointment behind them, with plenty of recruitment to be done.

Barney Stewart is one of several stars to have already been linked with a move to The Hawthorns as James Morrison looks to bolster his squad.

However, to make way for potential arrivals, Albion will have decisions to make over the futures of players currently residing in the Midlands.

Bostock is one of them who could leave, with a decision likely to come soon.

What’s next for Olli Bostock?

Mainly due to injuries, Bostock has made a handful of senior appearances this season, but he has struggled to make an impact in them.

The teen scored in the 2-1 defeat away to Oxford back in February, having also registered an assist in the FA Cup draw with Swansea in January.

However, his contributions outside of that have been minimal, though it’s clear that the potential is there.

West Brom will want their youngsters to have regular access to minutes next season, and for Bostock to get that, a loan exit seems inevitable.

Where could Bostock go?

A Championship loan would make little sense given the need for gametime assurances, but a move to League One could benefit all parties.

Bostock has shown that he is capable of having an impact at senior level if given an extended chance, which he is far more likely to get in League One or even League Two.

For now, he is likely to be part of West Brom’s pre-season plans, where Morrison will make a final decision.
