West Brom’s promotion odds revealed as 26-27 Championship clubs confirmed

West Bromwich Albion are now looking ahead to another season in the Championship.

The Baggies are coming off the back of a pretty dreadful season in the second tier that so nearly ended in relegation to League One.

Things turned toxic under both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, and it left a drop into the third division look increasingly likely.

James Morrison certainly managed to turn things around and kept his side in the league before being appointed permanent head coach.

West Brom are now preparing for a new-look Championship as we assess how likely promotion to the Premier League could be.

How likely are West Brom to be Championship title winners?

Expectation isn’t exactly on the up at The Hawthorns right now after a 21st-place finish in the Championship most recently.

If not for an unbeaten run between early March and the end of April, things could have been so much different.

All that will be forgotten moving into a new campaign, especially with the division now sealed with six new sides.

Lincoln City, Cardiff City and Bolton have all come up from League One, while West Ham, Burnley and Wolves have dropped down from the Premier League.

Unsurprisingly, the latter three are already the favourites to win the league next season, coming in at odds of 9/4, 8/1 and 11/2 respectively.

Birmingham City are fourth favourites at 11/1, narrowly ahead of Middlesbrough at 12/1 and Sheffield United and Wrexham at 14/1.

West Brom Championship title winner odds

It doesn’t look so peachy for the Baggies, who are currently ranked joint 11th at 40/1 in the title winner odds.

West Brom have dealt with relegation odds for many months, so the idea of promotion may be a long shot, as the current chances portray.

Could West Brom get promoted next season?

It’s fair to say that the odds aren’t any more in Albion’s favour for promotion without winning the title.

They once again favour West Ham, Wolves and Burnley at odds of 4/6, 13/8 and 5/2.

This time, the B71 outfit sits ninth in the overall odds at 9/1, narrowly behind Stoke City and Derby County at 8/1 and Millwall at 7/1.

West Brom promotion odds

These predictions all come in before any signings have been made, with so many chances likely to be made between now and the start of the season.

The odds aren’t totally against the Baggies, but there is an uphill battle ahead if Morrison is to seal promotion to the Premier League.
