How West Brom could line up next in 2026-27 as rebuild begins with four new signings
West Bromwich Albion are already looking ahead to next season as they aim to improve on their 2025-26 campaign.
Despite ending the season on a positive note, it’s impossible to overlook how dismal the overall Championship campaign was from an Albion perspective.
After the dismal tenures of Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, the Baggies turned to former midfielder James Morrison to steady the ship.
He did just that, guiding the Black Country club through a 10-match unbeaten streak that guaranteed their Championship status.
Though the level of expectation is set to rise next term, West Brom News takes a look at how Albion could line up at the start of the 2026-27 season.

West Brom’s 2026-27 predicted lineup
While the season ended in disappointment against Sheffield Wednesday, Morrison and his side deserved heaps of praise for their performances during the run-in.
Though there will have to be somewhat of a rebuild, with multiple players in and around the first team leaving the club this summer.
West Brom departing first-teamers
Daryl Dike
Jed Wallace
Joe Wildsmith
Charlie Taylor (end of loan)
Danny Imray (end of loan)
Jamadeen Jimoh-Aloba (end of loan)
Hindolo Mustapha (end of loan)
Alongside this, Albion are in talks with Josh Maja over a potential new deal, alongside Karlan Grant.
Next season, West Brom News have picked Ipswich Town goalkeeeper Christian Walton to assume the role between the sticks – allowing the Baggies’ recruitment to be focused elsewhere.
Following Ipswich’s promotion to the Premier League in 2024, the 30-year-old was replaced as number one, making just two top-flight appearances for the Tractor Boys.
With this in mind, a deal could be struck either on loan or for a reasonable fee as he looks for first-team football.
Danny Imray is also someone for Morrison to target again this summer, after an impressive end to the campaign.
Transfer target Barney Stewart could start up top, while the dream target out on the right would be Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, who is deserving of a step up after an impressive season in League One with Bolton – scoring nine goals and registering 12 assists.

With four new additions, the Albion side could be revitalised.
George Campbell keeps his spot at centre-back alongside Nat Phillips, with Callum Styles out at left-back overlapping Isaac Price.
Jayson Molumby takes a more favoured central role alongside Ousmane Diakite, while top scorer Aune Heggebo leads the line alongside new man Stewart.
West Brom predicted XI: Walton; Imray, Campbell, Phillips, Styles; Cozier-Duberry, Molumby, Diakite, Price; Stewart, Heggebo
Isaac Price to be the centre of West Brom rebuild
Price is a versatile Northern Irishman who does not fit neatly into a single position.
He has an excellent right foot but lacks the pure playmaking flair of a classic No 10, though there is still scope for his creativity to grow.
As Albion’s form dipped under Mason and then Ramsay, Price’s own performances declined. Since Morrison switched to a two-man strike force, however, the 22-year-old has rediscovered his best form.

Playing on the left of midfield and drifting inside onto his stronger right foot, he has again become a constant threat on and off the ball.
After months of attacking bluntness, West Brom now have a genuine matchwinner in Price – and must make him central to their plans, with a natural wide option like Cozier-Duberry perfectly complementing this setup.
At 22, there is plenty of room for Price to grow, and he could benefit from playing in a side hoping to challenge further up the standings, particularly with the non-stop energy of Styles behind him.
