Ollie Bostock already heeds James Morrison advice as West Brom potential to be fulfilled
Ollie Bostock has all the potential in the world and looks good value to fulfil that at West Bromwich Albion under James Morrison.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at The Hawthorns last time out as he made his senior debut in October on the back of signing a new deal.
Bostock featured seven times in the Championship and scored his first goal at senior level in the loss to Oxford United – Morrison’s first game in charge.
While the teenager may not have played as consistently as he would have liked, he showed plenty of promise when he was called upon.
And Morrison has now issued some fresh advice to Bostock ahead of next season, which he has already seemingly heeded.

James Morrison wants Ollie Bostock to come back raring to go
There is no denying that Bostock looked very raw for West Brom in certain matches last season, but that comes with his age.
While Albion have the option of potentially loaning the academy product out, it makes more sense to continue using him sparingly at first-team level.

Morrison worked closely with Bostock previously and can clearly see what many others can in the young gem.
In quotes attributed to The Express & Star, Morrison laid down the gauntlet to Bostock as he said: “On the training pitch he works every day really hard.
“He’s got to go away and keep progressing in the off-season and come back in the right frame of mind to try to have that breakthrough season. But he’s definitely got potential.”
Go away and keep progressing Bostock certainly has done, having linked up with the Wales senior team last week.
Bostock was called up by Craig Bellamy for a warm-weather training camp and he will now hope to stick around for upcoming friendlies with Ghana and Romania.

While others are enjoying their summer breaks, Bostock is instead working hard on the training ground alongside some big-name players. That can only bode well for the future.
Which other West Brom players are part of Wales group?
Bostock is not the only West Brom player who has been away with Wales over the past week or so.
Chris Mepham, who faces an uncertain future in the Black Country, is also involved, as is Alex Williams.
It is expected that Mepham will remain part of the group for the aforementioned friendlies, but it is less clear what the plan is for Bostock and Williams.
If nothing else, though, the pair have been able to keep ticking along and likely improve while working some more experiences pros.
That will be music to the ears of Morrison, who will no doubt call upon Bostock more regularly in 2026-27.
