West Brom shouldn’t entertain George Campbell exit talks as bigger prize to be won in 2026-2027
West Bromwich Albion will be looking to build a team capable of moving far away from the relegation zone, and George Campbell must be part of that.
James Morrison proved to be the worthy man to lead the Baggies to the future, after expertly guiding the Hawthorns club away from the drop zone.
The former Scotland international was rightly awarded for his job, and now the ownership must back him ahead of next season.
Incomings will be needed in B71 in order to achieve any of the ambitious goals that may be held at the Hawthorns.
However, West Brom’s ability to keep their top stars will prove just as important.

Why George Campbell exit talk should not be entertained by West Brom
Campbell has been linked to Celtic, and according to the Express and Star, that is still the case as the transfer window moves closer.

| Pass accuracy | 85% |
| Duel success | 56% |
| Tackles per game | 1.6 |
| Clean sheets | 10 |

They sat in 21st place following the conclusion of the 46-game season; now they will be playing in the Premier League after winning the play-offs.
Next season, the play-off places have been expanded, and an opportunity for West Brom to follow in the footsteps of the Tigers is there.
But they must keep their better players and allow Morrison the tools required to achieve that dream. Talk of Campbell leaving should be shot down.

What centre-back pairing could James Morrison use at West Brom?
The Baggies are already fairly blessed in the central defence department, with four names capable of playing in that role.
Morrison will have the choice between Chris Mepham, Nat Phillips, Krystian Bielek and, of course, Campbell.
When it comes to the best defensive partnership, that could prove a tough choice for the manager.
Mepham was out injured for most of Morrison’s tenure to end the season, and it largely saw Campbell and Phillips build a relationship. But he was intentionally left out once he returned from injury.
However, the Welsh defender is an excellent player and it would be interesting to see how Morrison pairs him alongside the American
