West Bromwich Albion fans have given their thoughts on the potential sale of George Campbell.

The defender proved vital in the latter months of the season, with former midfielder James Morrison taking over back in February.

Across a superb 10-match unbeaten run, Campbell starred across multiple roles in the Baggies' back four before finding a home at centre-back.

Now, Albion are looking ahead to the potential rebuild over the summer - crucially, still as a second-tier club.

Though, as is the case after successes on the pitch, West Brom may have to be prepared to lose players, with Campbell in particular named as a man in demand as of late.

George Campbell fee discussed as Celtic eye deal

In recent weeks, the defender has been linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic after his impressive form has played a major part in the turnaround in the Black Country.

With the upcoming window crucial for the club, the priority will be to complete sales early and avoid a repeat of last year, when Torbjorn Heggem and Tom Fellows left late in the summer.

Over on X, a discussion was started ahead of a potential deal for Campbell, putting the question out there as to what fee the Baggies would be looking for.

Straight away, some supporters joked around with a high £30million fee, while the conversation invoked some interestingly similar responses.

One supporter said that Albion have "got to be realistic," after the tumultous season at The Hawthorns.

Though, with Heggem's move last summer in mind, some believe that this should be the benchmark ahead of the coming window.

The £10m figure mentioned would prove popular, with the West Brom faithful looking at the bargain fee paid for him upon his arrival.

Looking ahead to the rebuild, the reply from the supporter above is something that will be a focus.

With West Brom losing multiple key players across recent years, the hierarchy will have to begin to anticipate these scenarios, putting in suitable release clauses for those potentially set to be moved on again in the future.

With Campbell, though, the Baggies would be bringing in a sizeable windfall for a player bought for such a low fee less than a year ago.

West Brom must be diligent with summer planning

It has been a fantastic period for West Brom, who have been let off after a terrible run threw them into the relegation zone.

Looking ahead to the summer, the chance is there to rebuild and reset – leaving the relegation worries in the past.

However, targets must be identified early, while any potential departures can’t remain unresolved.

Albion have been handed a lifeline in the Championship, with the opportunity to launch themselves back among the top contenders, but this coming transfer period must be handled correctly to avoid a situation like last year.
