Carlos Corberan’s West Brom tenure
Carlos Corberan became a hugely popular figure during his time at the dugout at West Brom, initially steering Albion away from a relegation struggle upon his arrival in October 2022 and just narrowly missing out on the top six. In the following campaign, the Spaniard would lead the Baggies to the play-offs but they were beaten by Southampton in the semi-finals. Just seven months later, he would depart the club for Valencia, the team he grew up supporting. Corberan performed admirably at a time of behind-the-scenes chaos at The Hawthorns and is still thought of highly by most of the fanbase.
Carlos Corberan’s road to West Brom
Corberan enjoyed a couple of head coach roles in Cyprus before later working at Leeds United, including as part of Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team staff. His first full head coaching role in English football was with Huddersfield Town, and he would have a very short stint with Olympiacos in Greece before arriving at The Hawthorns in October 2022. He would spend a little over two years with Albion before agreeing to join boyhood club Valencia in LaLiga on Christmas Eve, 2024.
Carlos Corberan career achievements
Corberan did some excellent work with Leeds United’s youth teams before working for the first-team squad under Marcelo Bielsa. At West Brom, he reached the Championship play-offs in the 2023-24 campaign but the Baggies were knocked out by Southampton.
