Carter Pinnington shares post as West Brom loan exit sealed, England international reacts
Carter Pinnington is looking forward to an "exciting" spell away from West Bromwich Albion.
The 19-year-old defender joined Albion this summer from Liverpool on a permanent transfer.
He penned a three-year contract at The Hawthorns, signifying clear belief around B71 that he's got future first-team potential.
The plan always was for Pinnington to head straight for the Baggies' Under-21s side, and that's where he's been so far this season.
He's made seven appearances for the Under-21s, with three of those coming in Premier League 2 and all being part of the starting lineup.
But now the youngster has been commissioned with the opportunity to go and take his first extended steps into senior football.
Which England international has liked Carter Pinnington's Solihull Moors post?
It was announced on Tuesday that Pinnington has signed for Solihull Moors on loan.
He joins the National League outfit on a temporary basis until 26 December this year.
As such, he's got a couple of months now to go and get regular first-team football under his belt, which should serve his future Albion prospects well.
Pinnington has already made his Solihull debut too, doing so on Tuesday night in a 4-2 away win over Woking.
He started the game before being replaced with 20 minutes to go, and marked his debut and the loan move via his Instagram account on Wednesday.
"Great result last night and an exciting few months ahead. Let’s go!" Pinnington wrote.
The post drew a like from one of English, and indeed world, football's brightest young talents too: Rio Ngumoha.
Having played 20 minutes for England against Czechia on Tuesday night, the 18-year-old is clearly still good friends with Pinnington.
So, why will Solihull be a big test for Pinnington, and why is he sure to learn lots from it regardless of his playing time?
Where are Solihull in the National League?
The National League is the highest level of non-league football in England, and it's a tough old league.
Only the Champions currently win automatic promotion to League Two, whilst only one side goes up through the play-offs.
Prior to that aforementioned win over Woking on debut for Pinnington, Moors had won just one of their opening 11 league games this season.
As a result, they currently sit 23rd of 24 in the table, and are already three points adrift of safety.
So, being in a dressing room that's potentially going to be embroiled in a relegation fight will be a big learning experience for Pinnington.
There's the old saying that you learn more in defeat than you do in victory, and swapping elite academy environments for the National League will be a steep, but invaluable learning curve.
