Ollie Bostock already in love with Barney Stewart as West Brom friendly footage shared
Barney Stewart has wasted no time in winning over his new West Bromwich Albion teammates, Ollie Bostock included.
Albion signed Stewart from Scottish Premiership side Falkirk last month for a fee north of £1million.
Stewart is one of four players to have arrived at The Hawthorns this summer, along with Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Matt Ingram and Carter Pinnington.
James Morrison used Stewart, Morgan and Ingram in Friday's pre-season friendly with Bromley in Albufeira.
The Baggies were resounding 4-1 winners over the League One side in a strong outing for Morrison's men.
And fans will be encouraged by what they saw from Stewart in particular in the friendly match.
Barney Stewart already shows what he's capable of
Stewart scored eight goals in 12 appearances on loan at Dunfermline Athletic in the first half of last season.
He then netted 10 goals in 21 outings for Falkirk upon returning for the second half of the campaign.
The 22-year-old has been signed with the intention of scoring goals regularly for West Brom.
And he was among those on the scoresheet against Bromley, along with Morgan, Aune Heggebo and Jack Bray.
Stewart finished clinically 10 minutes from time to round off the scoring in Portugal.
Bostock assisted the goal after stealing possession and sending in a cross for Stewart to convert first time.
The Wales Under-21 international shared footage of the goal on his personal Instagram account on Saturday.
Bostock tagged Stewart in the post and added a smiling face with love hearts emoji, very much making it known what he makes of his colleague.
What did James Morrison have to say about the win?
Morrison will lead West Brom permanently this coming season after doing a superb job in caretaker charge in the latter part of 2025-26.
As covered by West Brom News, there were plenty of positives for Morrison to take out of the Bromley game.
Nobody will get carried away by a comfortable win over a side that were competing in the fourth tier of English football last season.
What is most important right now is players building up their fitness and clicking together, just like Bostock and Stewart clearly did.
Speaking to Albion's website after the game, Morrison said: "I emphasised on hard work. We made that a big part of early on in the week.
“I’ve seen a lot of hands on knees, which is pleasing. The hard work creates a bit of a culture and an environment.
“The first thing you do after a hard run is go and pick your team-mate up or give them a high five and say well done. We certainly got that."
Albion now return back to the UK for further friendlies with Shrewsbury Town and Peterborough United.
