West Bromwich Albion learned lots after beating Bromley 4-1 in a pre-season friendly on Friday.

Albion closed out a productive pre-season camp in Portugal in style with a big win over League Two side Bromley.

The Baggies had already started off their pre-season work with a bang, beating Sheffield Wednesday 3-0, and it's now two in two for James Morrison's men.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan opened the scoring early before Bromley responded quickly with a goal from the spot after being awarded a penalty.

Aune Heggebo put the Black Country Club back in front before goals from youngster Jack Bray and new signing Barney Stewart topped off another good run-out before the season opener against Rotherham.

Morrison will have lots to dissect following an intense week in Portugal, though it may prove a crucial turning point for some players.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan could be next big thing for West Brom

West Brom were always going to look for new strikers this summer, especially after the departure of Daryl Dike.

Josh Maja could also leave the Baggies, with his contract uncertainty still ongoing, though fans should not fear.

That's because Morgan has continued his positive start to life for West Brom after scoring in his first match against Sheffield Wednesday.

As described by Albion on their official X account, the 20-year-old put the club ahead against Bromley, with a curling effort from outside the box.

That's two in two for the versatile forward, who looks to have all the potential in the world after an impressive loan spell with Peterborough United.

West Brom News understands that Morgan only cost Shilen Patel an up-front fee of £1million, with the potential for the deal to rise to £4m after add-ons, in what could be a bargain.

But not every transfer story works out.

Tammer Bany future in doubt amid new injury concern

Tammer Bany still remains an unknown threat for Albion after signing for the club in the winter of 2025.

The 22-year-old has only managed to make eight appearances for West Brom and he may not make any more.

That's because it was reported that he was the only West Brom player present to not feature as a sub at the very least.

It's sparked further injury concern, which seriously put his future in doubt, as pre-season could've been the Dane's last chance to make an impact.

What we learned about West Brom fans in Portugal

Albion fans travelled in numbers to Portugal to watch Morrison and his side play against Bromley in Albufeira.

Pre-season is always an exciting time of the year for any football fan, but travelling the lengths that West Brom supporters have done here is special.

What it shows is that the fans finally believe that the club is going in the right direction under Morrison, who has been a breath of fresh air.

A Relationship is being built, and one that could hopefully take Albion back to where they belong soon.
