West Bromwich Albion are feeling the excitement ahead of the 2026-27 Championship campaign.

The Baggies are aiming for a more prosperous term, after they were dragged into a relegation battle last season.

James Morrison steered the Albion to safety, but a similar story must be avoided at all costs.

West Brom will open their season on Saturday 15 August, when they face Norwich City.

But, there are two days in particular that fans in the Midlands are concerned about.

And with the first of these two clashes against Wolves now set in stone, the Baggies will begin plotting their revenge in the Black Country derby.

West Brom learn revenge date as Sky Sports make changes

When the sides last met in 2024, the FA Cup tie would be moved to as early as 11:45 in the morning.

As is often the case with hostile derbies, broadcasters are often given no choice in the matter, but the 11:45 slot was unprecedented at the time, and highlighted just how big the derby is for fans in the Midlands.

This time, there is an ever so slightly more accommodating time of 12pm on Sunday 20 September, as West Brom make the short trip to Molineux.

The Baggies picked up a 4-3 win last time away at their rivals, courtesy of a Mateus Pereira hat-trick, though that would come without fans in the 2020-21 season.

Wolves would take the bragging rights two years ago, with Pedro Neto and Matheus Cunha sealing a 2-0 win at The Hawthorns.

But, the playing field has been somewhat levelled, with Wolves now a Championship club, and the Albion will be looking to take revenge.

Four other West Brom fixtures changed as season start draws closer

Across the opening two months of the season, five Baggies matches will be on live TV, including the clash against Wolves.

On Saturday, 8 August to open the season, the Baggies' Carabao Cup clash with Rotherham United will be shown on Sky Sports+ at 5:30pm.

Then, the first home match of the Championship season against Burnley is on Sky Sports Football at midday on Sunday 23 August.

The showdown with Middlesbrough a week later will be on Sky Sports Football and ITV, shown on Saturday 29 August at 12:30pm

Then, the final rescheduled fixture before the derby comes on Saturday 12 September, as the Albion welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Black Country for another 12:30pm kick-off.
