Supercomputer predicts Wrexham vs West Brom as 96-year first set for Championship clash
Wrexham are next up for West Bromwich Albion in the Championship.
Albion will travel to the Racecourse Ground to face the Red Dragons on Tuesday in an important second-tier showdown.
Both sides will be hoping they can finish inside the top eight this season, or at least improve on their respective finishes in the division last term.
James Morrison's men are coming into this one on the back of consecutive defeats to Midlands rivals Wolves and Birmingham City, leaving Baggies fans craving something to shout about.
Phil Parkinson's side are sitting in 15th ahead of the match, and though they prove a difficult team to beat, they have still managed to win just two games this season.
A win for West Brom would keep hope that they can push for a place in the play-offs, but does victory lie ahead of them?
Supercomputer predicts 96-year first for Wrexham vs West Brom
West Brom got the better of Wrexham last season, winning 3-2 in the same fixture back in August 2025, thanks to a brace from Isaac Price and a near-post Jed Wallace finish.
The Black Country Club led the Red Dragons 2-0 at The Hawthorns during their fixture in April, but a second-half comeback saw the visitors snatch a point in a 2-2 draw.
One thing is for sure, this fixture looks set to provide some entertainment for the neutral.
Opta's supercomputer has Wrexham down as favourites with an estimated 49 per cent chance of winning.
West Brom's chances of winning stand at 25.4 per cent, which leaves a 25.6 per cent chance of another draw.
If the hosts were to pull off the victory, it would be their first win over West Brom in 96 years, which goes back to 1930 when the Red Dragons won 1-0 in an FA Cup fixture.
A loss for West Brom would be the first time that the Baggies have lost three games in a row since April of 2025 under Tony Mowbray.
Who does Opta favour for promotion out of Wrexham and West Brom?
West Brom only had small sights set on the play-offs this season, with the goal always to build on the league finish from last term.
Luckily for Morrison, new signings Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Felix Horn Myhre, Rabby Nzingoula and others have hit the ground running, giving Baggies fans hope.
However, Opta have Wrexham down to finish in eighth place on 64.88 points, while Albion are predicted to finish behind them in ninth on 63.71 points.
Albion currently have a slight 3.28 per cent chance of getting into the top eight, though a win on Tuesday could change the dynamic of things once more.
