West Brom fans excited by Tammer Bany developments are instantly brought back down to earth

West Bromwich Albion fans are still itching to see Tammer Bany succeed at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies signed the winger from Randers FC for a fee in the region of £3.3million midway through the 2024-25 season.

The 22-year-old has suffered consistent injury setbacks so far with Albion and has only made a total of nine appearances for the club.

James Morrison handed Bany a run-out in the 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United, where he managed to play 10 minutes in his first game since last season's final-day loss against Sheffield Wednesday.

Baggies fans have been hoping that the Black Country Club's investment would pay off at some point.

Bany has been called up to represent Jordan in their double-friendly header over the international break, but there may be reason why West Brom supporters shouldn't get ahead of themselves.

Bany was called up for Jordan in November 2025, but didn't make an appearance for his nation.

He's now been given the nod again by head coach Ezzaki Badou, with games against Syria and Australia set.

Some Albion fans have been vocal after Bany's inclusion in the Jordan squad, with some suggestions that he should be playing more for Morrison.

Former Birmingham Mail reporter Chris Lepkowski has reacted on X to some of these suggestions at West Brom, and it's clear to see which side of the fence he sits on.

Lepkowski wrote: "I see Bany's West Brom value has supposedly soared on the basis of him being called up for the second time to represent a nation graded 73rd in the FIFA rankings.

"Maybe he just hasn't done enough to impress the last three Albion managers."

He clarifies that he excluded Eric Ramsay's "five minutes" at The Hawthorns, but what he is saying is true.

Yes, Bany has had a nightmare with injuries, but when he has been fit, there has never been a sense of urgency from any of West Brom's previous four coaches to play him.

Lepkowski then suggested that when Bany has played, the forward has not shown any attributes that prove he is a Championship-level player.

What is West Brom's solution to Bany situation?

Bany still has just under two years left on his West Brom contract, which expires in June of 2028.

That said, there is still a glimmer of hope for him to succeed under Morrison, but that looks unlikely.

Bany's Transfermarkt value has completely nosedived and sits at a measly £215,000.

If West Brom know they are not going to play the Dane in the Championship, they should chuck him in with the U21s, and keep him fit until January.

Albion could try to find him a loan move in the winter window in an attempt to bump his value up.

It's now potentially damage limitation with Bany, as this may be the only way to get something back from this disaster of a transfer.
