West Brom player ratings vs Wrexham: Rabby Nzingoula flops in new role, 8/10 teammate top class
West Bromwich Albion picked up a big three points in a 2-1 win at Wrexham on Tuesday night.
James Morrison made five changes from the defeat against Birmingham City at the weekend.
Aune Heggebo, Nat Phillips, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Ousmane Diakite and Felix Horn Myhre all dropped out of the side.
Isaac Price, Jayson Molumby, Harry Whitwell, George Campbell and Barney Stewart all came into the starting lineup at the Racecourse Ground.
Price grabbed an equaliser on 79 minutes after Kieffer Moore's excellent 64th-minute strike, before Heggebo came off the bench late on to net the winner with six minutes to play.
West Brom News grades every Albion player who played a part on Tuesday night out of 10.
Rabby Nzingoula looked uncomfortable in advanced role
After joining West Brom in the summer, Rabby Nzingoula has typically been deployed as a traditional central midfielder.
However, Morrison decided to push the 20-year-old into an attacking midfield role behind Stewart against Wrexham.
Albion monopolised possession, particularly the first half, but couldn't find ways to hurt the Red Dragons' defence in the opening 45.
Much of that stemmed from Nzingoula's inability to pull the strings, as he was unable to link midfield and attack together for the Baggies.
Numerous positive attacking moves were ended by poor final balls or blocked crosses, whilst he also picked up a yellow card late in the first half.
While Nzingoula didn't have a great night in Wales, there was one performance that really stood out for Albion.
George Campbell surely cements starting XI place vs Wrexham
After being benched against Birmingham last time out, Campbell returned to West Brom's starting lineup for the trip to Wrexham.
The 25-year-old centre-back took the captain's armband from Chris Mepham, and the American did it justice.
Moore posed a constant threat all night, but Campbell marshalled him well and couldn't have done anything to prevent his long-range strike on 64 minutes.
After Phillips conceded the costly penalty against Blues, Campbell will've known a big performance at the Racecourse could be big for his future starting prospects.
That's exactly what he delivered, and was arguably Albion's best player on the pitch, which should cement his place in the side for Blackburn on Saturday.
