Tammer Bany has yet to play a minute of Championship football for West Bromwich Albion this season.

The attacker signed from Danish side Randers FC in the January 2025 transfer window, costing the Baggies around £3.3million.

Andrew Nestor made some bad moves during his time at The Hawthorns, but many would argue that signing the 23-year-old was his worst.

Bany has played just nine times for Albion since joining over 18 months ago, and currently looks like a complete and utter waste.

Interestingly, James Morrison has named the forward on the bench in each of his last three matchday squads.

So what is happening on social media, and why are West Brom being told to play Bany?

Why West Brom can't escape Tammer Bany propaganda

The main issue with Bany's lack of impact for West Brom has been his recurring injury issues.

He suffered a torn thigh injury in 2025 that kept him out of action for over 100 days, as he missed more than 20 games for the Baggies.

The Jordan international made his return to action in the 3-0 win over QPR in April, as he also gained minutes against Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of last season.

The forward has made just one appearance for the Baggies this term, earning 10 minutes off the bench in a 3-2 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup in August.

Bany has since failed to make another senior appearance for the Black Country club, but was given his debut for Jordan over the international break.

From that, Jordan fans are now seemingly obsessed and are demanding that Morrison allows him to play more often.

West Brom posted to their Instagram on Sunday, asking Baggies fans their favourite goal from the win over Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.

The comment section is flooded with Jordan fans writing extremely long letters about why Bany should be playing for West Brom.

Some even go as far as to say that Baggies fans need to stop judging the player, even though they've had nothing to shout about from their £3m flop.

Albion's social media team have most likely noticed this, as some fans have, and may be wondering how they can stop it.

What James Morrison could be planning with Bany

Bany is still under contract at West Brom until June of 2028, which technically means there is still time for him to be a success at The Hawthorns.

However, it feels like a miracle would need to occur for the stars to align for the forward in a Baggies shirt now.

But Morrison is picking Bany over youngsters to feature on the bench, meaning he may be called upon soon.

Perhaps he's been asked by club officials to try and give him some game time where possible ahead of the January window.

Perhaps clubs will look at Bany as more of a Championship-level player and be enticed to sign him.

A loan move would be more sensible for Albion, considering that his market value has most likely dropped to next to nothing in the past year.
